I am writing about the amazing Connect Without Limits. It is a group that has people with certain diversities such as Autism or ADHD. Unfortunately some places and people don’t always understand or appreciate what these diagnoses are, or they take advantage of people with these diagnoses.

Connect Without Limits is a place where discrimination and judgement does not exist. This is an amazing group that is very welcoming and kind. For example, the hosts Oliver and Bronwyn are really nice and down to earth people. They are a professionally run group and are always very organised. They are always very welcoming and are always happy to see who comes. Oliver is always very funny making jokes that make everyone laugh. Bronwyn is always very nice as well and always informs us about what is happening the next time there is a session.

In our meet-up sessions we do a variety of activities. They allow you to draw if you want or build with Lego bricks. If you don’t feel creative you can play pool or snooker. There is no pressure to do anything; if you just want to talk that is absolutely fine.

Recently we have done a Digital Arts session which was absolutely fascinating. It allowed us access to computers in which we had to give context about what our art stories were about. We were also given a piece of paper that we are to draw in six sketches. This is a very interesting task as we have to do something that isn’t too long and doesn’t require long-winded stories but short and catchy stories that were very interesting to do. The stories that we did were creative and very different.

Another example of different activities we did was a crazy golf set up where we had mats, chairs and barriers to make our own courses. This was something different as it was a creative activity as well as a sporting activity.

Connect Without Limits is an amazing group. I always really look forward to going. In fact I wish it was weekly rather than monthly. I always want to come no matter what time or place it is. Sometimes I personally struggle to engage in social interactions but at Connect Without Limits I feel very connected with all the people there. We connect with each other within the group and I like everyone there. There is no judgement as we are all unique in our own way.
